After being hit by a car while cycling to the training centre, Martin Thomas had to withdraw from the selection process for the French national team. We offer him our full support.
This fracture of the left wrist will require a period of three weeks of immobilisation. However, Martin is still able to go out on the water, although only to do balancing exercises. Following these three weeks, he will be able to wear a thermoformed splint adaptable to fit the grip of the paddle.
He hopes to be able to take part in a number of World Cup races as early as the end of August. He especially hopes to avoid a no-show season despite not taking part in the national selections.
Martin intends to take part in international races in July in order to get back to racing as soon as possible. He knows he can count on the support of the French team manager and the medical team who are well aware of his level of performance prior to the accident and the exceptional circumstances of this situation. A decision to be followed…
At Caderas Martin, we are all looking forward to seeing Martin again out on the water defending the colours of the French team.
