Regrettably, this is not new, however the list of new measures is growing every month: Payment deferrals for social and/or tax liabilities, direct tax forgiveness, rent payment assistance, solidarity funds, assumption of fixed costs for companies, state-guaranteed loans and other “rebound” loans, rescheduling of bank loans, partial unemployment schemes, conflict mediation, support measures for French exporters, and regional subsidies, etc.
Ever since the onset of this public health crisis in March 2020, corporate assistance programs have been put in place in accordance with the government’s “Whatever it Takes” policy.
Applying for these benefits must be carefully considered, in compliance with the regulations, and taking into account all the relevant criteria. It is important not to adopt a short-term solution that would subsequently complicate the management of the company in the long run.
The situation in which we are currently operating is highly unstable. The assistance available is constantly in flux and the deadlines required to prepare the applications are sometimes extremely short.
